ICT
At Pine Green, various technologies are used throughout the school and play an invaluable part in the education of students.
The majority of classrooms have a Smartboard or big screen that allows pupils to access lessons via resources shown on the computer screen. ICT can be used in the majority of subjects via our KS3 and KS4 ICT suites to engage and motivate pupils and allow them access to a wide range of environments.
The ICT courses are designed to give learners the skills to operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life
Due to recent modifications to the curriculum in Computing, KS3 students now study strands of ICT such as Office programs and Digital Literacy as well as elementary coding and programming such as KODU.
We are also constantly seeking to ensure that our students are digitally literate and aware of the risks that technology and online communication may present. In a world where technology plays an increasing part in more and more of our daily activities it is imperative that students leave Pine Green with the knowledge of how to use such technologies safely.
The ICT course is designed to give learners the skills to operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life. We aim to ensure the ICT experiences and abilities that the students are equipped with lead to effective and transferrable life skills.
